The Office for Construction and Housing Legislation handles legislation for private rental housing. Private rental housing is characterized by being located in properties owned by private companies or individuals.
The office also handles legislation for co-operative housing. A cooperative housing association is an association whose purpose it is to own and operate a property on a cooperative basis.
In addition, the office handles the Owner-occupied Flats Act and regulates the conditions for the construction industry in Denmark, including the Building Act and the Building Regulations.
Finally, the office administers the Urban Renewal Act, which gives the municipalities the opportunity to provide support for, e.g., building renewal and area renewal designed to ensure good housing conditions in a social perspective.
