The Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration focuses on the use of welfare technology in the social sector. The demographic development causes an increased demand for public service. At the same time, it will become harder to recruit employees to the public sector because a decreasing amount of the population will be engaged in active employment.
Therefore, a focus on welfare technologies is essential to solve the challenges which the demographic development creates in the social sector. Welfare technologies can be an opportunity for the citizens to take care of themselves and participate in society and thereby improving the working environment and disengaging time for employees.

The work of The Danish PWT-Foundation - Investments in Public Welfare Technology - is directed towards developing and improving public sector services through the implementation of labour-saving technologies and more efficient working processes. The foundation supports projects that test and spread out technology that decreases the need for man-power.
